The Rowan University community is mourning the loss of Professor Veda Zuponcic, a distinguished educator, internationally recognized pianist, and cherished member of the College of the Arts. She passed away on June 3, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of musical excellence, academic achievement, and decades of dedication to her students.

Professor Zuponcic served Rowan University for more than 50 years, joining the Department of Music in 1971. Throughout her tenure, she became a foundational figure in the university’s music program, devoting her career to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring generations of aspiring musicians. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, shaping the professional and personal lives of countless students.
Known for her rigorous standards, deep musical knowledge, and genuine care for her students, she fostered an environment that encouraged artistic growth and excellence. Family, friends, colleagues, and students will gather in remembrance on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Platt Memorial Chapels in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with burial to follow at Locustwood Memorial Park.
